Keeping a flock of backyard chickens can be a fun and productive hobby, and those who are considering housing some feathered friends on their property are invited to take part in a Seattle area learning session.
The Backyard Chickens session will provide the inside scoop on the coop, and Sally Anne Sadler will be sharing what she has learned over the 27 years that she has raised chickens herself. Tickets for the event are on offer on a sliding scale, and it has been organized by Seattle REconomy.
The activity, which will be held at the Shoreline Tool Library in North Shoreline, will touch on a variety of topics related to raising poultry on a small scale. Sally will discuss how to choose the right breed for a backyard, and feeding and other cultural concerns will be on the agenda as well. Tips will be shared for housing the birds as well as keeping them healthy and safe from predators, and the session will run for one and half hours.
