More people are discovering the simple joys of needlework, and a Seattle workshop will teach the basics of the craft.
The students in the Tropical Plants Sampler class will learn the fundamentals of embroidery through hands-on practice, in a session led by MCreativeJ’s Melissa Galbraith. Everyone will start a project they can take home with them, and the design will feature jungle flowers and foliage.
During the session, Galbraith will teach the students up to seven different basic stitches, and the design transfer method, which the organizers noted is easy to use, will also be taught. The class will run for two hours, and the registration fee covers the cost of the materials. It will be held at Monster, which is located at 1716 NW Market Street, and everyone who registers will be offered a discount on any purchases made at the venue while participating in the workshop.
This sort of event gives members of the public a chance to learn a new skill. Promoting an activity can be made a lot easier with support from Print shops, which will be able to offer flyer printing and other marketing services.
This introduction to the art of embroidery will be on offer on December 14. The host of the activity has made a request that everyone who Signs up arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of its scheduled start time, which is 6:00 pm.
