Seattle will close out its annual calendar with a seasonal celebration featuring seasonal lights, live showcases, and model displays this December.
Presented by Symetra, the Seattle Center Winterfest integrates seasonal decorations, along with ice sculpting, concluding with a New Year’s Eve event.
The Winter Train & Village is a late 19th-century model train, and the miniature railway will be set up inside the Armory Food & Event Hall, where it has been displayed for 50 years. Guests also have the opportunity to take turns conducting the train or join the scavenger hunt, and donations help keep the train operating.
Community events like these often include local vendors and organizations, and poster printing can be a useful tool for groups to promote seasonal performances and gatherings.
The festival’s scheduled weekend programming will run until December 27. On Saturdays at noon, there will be ice-sculpting exhibitions hosted at the Mural Amphitheatre, and a lighting display will be visible at night. The concluding New Year’s Eve celebration is free and includes music performances at the Armory from 8 pm to midnight, and a Fountain of Light showcase at the International Fountain at 9 pm.
The railway exhibit is hosted at the central campus, 305 Harrison Street, and runs from November 27 through December 31, accessible daily from 10 am until 6 pm.
