Seattle prepares for botanical garden celebration
Late this fall, the Bellevue Botanical Garden will be hosting the 24th annual Garden d’Lights. This event is all about whimsical lights set in among nature in the botanical gardens.
Lights are shaped into plants, flowers, animals, birds, and even waterfalls for viewing enjoyment. Tickets will be available online starting October 15, and will be available at the door on the day of the event. Tickets are $5 each, although children 10 and under are free.
Limited premium parking is available in the Garden’s lot for $5 a car. Only cash is accepted in the parking lot and space is limited. Free parking is available at the Wilburton Hill Park.
The Aaron Education Center will be selling refreshments, including coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks. The education center also holds the Winter Wonderland display set up by Wilburton.
There will be live entertainment for guests. The list is currently being set up, and will be available closer to time. Guests will be able to enter the garden at 4:30 pm, and last entry will be at 9:00 pm.
Events like this often benefit from corporate gifts. As a nonprofit organization, the Bellevue Botanical Garden has a spot where it thanks all of the corporate donors for the year. The Garden d’Lights is also staffed by volunteers. The event opens on November 24 and runs through December 30. Free admission will be offered to guests on November 24 through 29. The garden is closed December 24 and 25.
