A festival that celebrates the agricultural industries of dairy and meat will fill guests’ bellies with the best Washington state has to offer.
The Seattle Cheese and Meat Festival showcases meats and cheeses that are growing ever more sophisticated in the local market.
The festival is made up of two, two-hour tasting sessions. One begins at noon and the other at 3:00 pm. Attendees can pick their preferred time when they purchase tickets.
On arrival visitors are given a glass to sample the many different wines and beers, and a charcuterie board on which to sample the variety of cheeses and meats from a number of vendors. There are more than 80 licensed cheesemakers in Washington today manufacturing everything from goats’ and cows’ cheese to artisan or traditional style cheeses.
Besides wine, beer, meat and cheese, there are other delectable food samples such as chocolate and ice cream.
Part of the proceeds from the event goes to support the Washington Cheesemakers Association (WASCA), which promotes and educates the public on the quality cheeses made by local farmers and producers.
Tickets are between $35 and $150 plus taxes and fees. The festival is one of a three-part series of events. Similar festivals are scheduled for Vancouver and Victoria, Canada. Vendors at events such as this one usually have a stock of Business Cards on hand to give to the many potential customers that will be filing past.
