Holidays go wild at Woodland Park Zoo
Expect some animal behavior this holiday season, especially at Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo. The zoo is holding its annual Winter Celebration, where animals take part in the festive season.
Animals are fed wreaths with assorted fruit, or evergreen trees with ornamental fruits. This is all part of the zoo's mandate to mentally and physically stimulate its animals, as well providing entertainment for zoo visitors.
Zoo members get free access to the event. Otherwise adult admission prices are $15.50, children 3 to 12 years-old pay $10.50, seniors (65+) pay $13.50, and children under three years-old get in for free.
The Woodland Park Zoo is home to 1,090 animal specimens, 300 animal species, and 35 endangered and five threatened animal species.
The Winter Celebration is one of several events at the Woodland Park Zoo this holiday season. Banner printing can be useful in events like these to welcome visitors and add to the festive ambiance.
The zoo gets lit up in the festive spirit with Wildlights. There will be new light displays all over the zoo, including a holiday light show at the zoo's south entrance for the duration of the display.
The Winter Celebration takes place Saturday December 14, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Wildlights runs November 29 to January 5, 2020.
The Woodland Park Zoo is open Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, Saturdays and Sunday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. The zoo is open every day except Christmas Day, and is located at 5500 Phinney Avenue North, in Seattle.
