Winterfest has returned to Seattle for the next few weeks, presented by Northwest Folklife.
The festival offers a variety of virtual experiences in addition to in person activities. There is an extraordinary lighting display at Campus Luminata that can be visited after dark; social distancing protocols are to be followed while visiting the Seattle Center.
Like with other years, there will be musical performances by various student groups, which will be viewed virtually. Several holiday videos are also available where people discuss their favorite holidays from all around the world. There are also cooking demonstrations and an art exhibit; the PTSA Reflections art exhibit will be displayed in the Armory and viewed virtually. New content will be added weekly so those who are interested are encouraged to visit several times over the five weeks. In addition, the winter train and the miniature village of Centerville are also viewable.
Another activity children can take part in is the coloring contest. Prizes will be awarded each Saturday until January.
No doubt many Seattle residents will want to take part in this holiday tradition no matter how different it is. Local flyer printing companies often provide the advertising to spread the word about such events.
