This summer, nine young women from the Tri-City area, including Kennewick, will compete in the Miss Tri-Cities 2015 pageant. Only one will walk away the winner.
Now in its 55th year, the pageant program gives out more than $30,000 worth of scholarships every year. The Tri-Cities pageant serves as a preliminary to the Miss Washington pageant and to the Miss America pageant.
Local celebrities will act as emcees of the pageant, or will make an appearance during the event. Kevin Uretsky, a news anchor from KVEW-TV, will host the pageant alongside Kristen Blair Guerrero, who was crowned Miss Texas in 2009. Samantha Brown, the current Miss Tri-Cities, and Paige Rebstock, who was crowned Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen in 2014, will also appear onstage. Kristine Weitz, who currently performs in Las Vegas and who was won the Miss Tri-Cities and Miss Washington crowns in 1980, will perform during the pageant as well.
Pageant organizers can use local printing services to get the word out about the pageant to the local community. The contest, which includes both Miss Tri-Cities and Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen, is scheduled to take place at the Art Fuller Auditorium at Kennewick High School at 6:30 pm on July 18. Tickets to the pageant are $20 and are available online.
A reception at the Tri-City Country Club is scheduled for right after the pageant. Tickets to the reception only are $15.
