Richland to scare away epilepsy in upcoming athletic event

Locals can head to Columbia Point Marina Park in Richland this November to participate in the Scare Away Epilepsy running event.

Scare Away Epilepsy is a fun run hosted by Kamiakin DECA where people can join to help raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation. Guests can choose to take part in a traditional 5K course or pick the One Mile Trick or Treat Run instead. The activity is open to everybody, and all attendees can wear a costume to the event. Candy will be distributed to runners during the One Mile Trick or Treat Run.

The goal for the fundraising event is to raise over $4,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation and have an attendance of at least 200 people. The organizers hope to increase awareness about epilepsy and its effects on individuals. A guest speaker will give a presentation during the event before the activities begin. Organizations that hold athletic fundraisers such as this can use Print shops to produce ads that make the community interested in attending.

The Scare Away Epilepsy fundraiser will be held on November 2. Registration for the event will open at 7:30 am, while the guest speaker will start at 9:00 am. Tickets to participate in the fun run will cost $25 per person, though children 12 and younger can join for free with the registration of an adult.
