Richland to organize convention for artists

The Holiday Inn Richland on the River will be holding a special event for those who like to create and learn in April.

SageFenCon is a convention where people can be taught new skills from experienced instructors and interact with artists. Guests may attend several kinds of artistic workshops during the event that cover topics like prop building, leatherworking, beading, and costume creation. The conference also has activities such as a writing workshop, art demonstration, and costume contest. People can even meet famous guests like John Barba and LuAnn Ostergaard.

Attendees can visit the SageFenCon Art Show to browse and potentially purchase submissions from talented artists. A voice auction will take place on Sunday, May 1 for works with four or more written bids. Art with fewer than four bids will be sold to the highest written number on the bid sheet. Exhibitors can purchase a flat space for $15 and a table space for $25. Artists who show their works at conventions such as these can use business card printing to give customers their contact info.

SageFenCon will be held from Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1. Tickets will cost attendees $35, and T-Shirts for the convention can be bought for $30. People interested in getting swag from the event can buy a package deal for $90. Hotel rates will start at $109.
