Kennewick starts off 2019 with community event

On the first Thursday of January the city of Kennewick, Washington will be hosting an event that invites both residents and tourists to enjoy the best of what Historic Downtown Kennewick has to offer.

Aptly named ‘1st Thursday’, the gathering is held monthly to promote the businesses and artists that operate out of downtown Kennewick. All of the stores in the district will be open to visit, and some of the companies will provide live music and beverages to help celebrate the festival. A group biking tour of the city is also held for those interested in taking part in something more physical.

Businesses can showcase the works of local artists as part of the Art Walk portion of 1st Thursday. Each month new maps are printed that get handed out to those participating in the Art Walk, which features stores that give artists space to display their pieces. Balloons are also available for purchase to ensure that people walking through the city know which businesses they should visit.

The event has a high turnout, which makes it the perfect chance of reaching out to new potential customers. Using items that are easy to carry like promotional Pens as gifts to visiting customers can help promote such events.

1st Thursday starts at 5:00 pm, and will end at 8:00 pm. Businesses participating in the event can buy balloons on the day from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, for $1 per balloon.
