The volunteer organization, made up of devotees who are dedicated to creating and maintaining depictions of railroad equipment and operations in miniature, has set up an exhibition in the museum that will be on view through January 27. According to a news release about the exhibition:
"[It] does not represent any particular place or time period, but does have some scenes that are similar to views in the Pacific Northwest."
The Reach Center, which opened in 2014, aims to celebrate the cultural, natural, and scientific history of Eastern Washington with exhibits such as the model railroad exhibition. The center has used flyer printing to promote the event to interested parties and to promote other events it will offer in January, such as the ‘Trains, Planes, and Automobiles’ family fun workshop, scheduled for this Saturday, January 9, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. People interested in signing up for the workshop can email the Center to register.
The museum is open every day except for Mondays, until 4:30 pm. Admission to the museum and all exhibitions is $8 for adults, $6 for students between ages 6 and 18, and for seniors over the age of 65. Admission is free for members and children five years old or younger.
