Fundraiser dinner to benefit Richland research facility

The Auction of Washington Wines (AWW) will be organizing a fundraiser in May at the Fidélitas Winery in Benton City to benefit a Richland wine research facility.

The AWW Wine Country Vintner Dinner is a series that invites people to interact with local vintners while supporting a good cause. The proceeds of the evening event will help the Seattle Children’s Tri-Cities clinic and Wine Science Center in Richland. Each course of the dinner will be paired with wine. Guests can also meet and mingle with representatives from J. Bookwalter Wines, Tinte Cellars, and the Upchurch Vineyard to learn the stories behind the products each group makes.

The Wine Science Center is a facility operated by Washington State University that consists of a wine library, teaching laboratories, multiple meeting spaces, and an in-house winery. Students of the center learn about the grape-growing and winemaking process. Other facilities located on the property include the Albert Ravenholt Research and Teaching Vineyard and Columbia Center Rotary Indicator Garden. Schools with centers such as this may use brochure printing to provide students with detailed information about their buildings.

The dinner will take place on Thursday May 12 from 6:00pm to 9:30pm. The cost to attend the fundraiser will be $150 per person. Guests may also bid on exclusive auction lots during the dinner.
