Puyallup ready to roll up its sleeves

Pierce County offers a variety of ways for Puyallup residents to get involved in environmental stewardship, and Pitch in For Parks is one of these initiatives.

This program, which depends upon the support and efforts of volunteers, gives people of all abilities and ages a way to give back. There are functions planned for February, March, and April, and those who are interested can choose to take part in as many of them as they wish.

In response to the pandemic, the organizers explained that anyone who would like to get involved will need to register ahead of time. The projects that will be undertaken include removing invasive species, rejuvenating flower beds and other plantings, and installing native plants. It is suggested that everyone bring a sturdy pair of work gloves as well as snacks and water, and they are reminded to follow social distancing protocols.

Adapting this sort of activity to make sure it is safe for everyone who participates can be made easier through help from local Stationery printers. They can provide registrations and screening Forms and contract tracing sheets, as well of Promotional Products to thank the volunteers for their work.

These Pitch in for Parks volunteer days will take place this Saturday, February 20, and also on March 20 and April 10. More details, including the locations where they will be held, are available on the Pierce County website.
