Issaquah to welcome Santa and reindeer

Once again, Issaquah will be the place to be for a special holiday event.

Cougar Mountain Zoo has announced the return of the Issaquah Reindeer Festival, an event that has been part of the community since 1988. There are many activities planned for those who visit the festival. They will be able to visit Santa Claus's House and chat with him, and have photos taken with the Jolly Old Elf.

Santa would be lost without his reindeer, and visitors will be able to meet his team, feed them, and enjoy watching them play. They can also write and mail letters to Santa, sit in his sleigh, and visit the Magic Forest. Every hour, an elf will read a story in the Story Time Theater, and the Wild Treasures Gift Shop will be open so people can find unusual gifts to delight recipients. Banner printing can be used to create decorations for outdoor events like this, since Banners resist inclement weather.

The festival runs from December 1 through December 23, from 10:30 am until 4:30 pm, or until dusk. It resumes again December 26 through December 30, with hours from 10:30 am until 3:30 pm. General admission is $16.50, seniors pay $15.50, and children from ages 2-12 are $13.50. Children under two are admitted free. Groups who reserve their tickets before November 1 will have their photo taken with Santa free of charge. The festival donates toys to children in need, and welcomes donations of new, unwrapped toys.
