Issaquah citizens have a host of opportunities to give and receive this holiday season, thanks to a number of benefits, events, and drives taking place the area.
The inaugural Circle of Love Fundraiser, which benefits the Cougar Mountain Zoo, is the main sponsors of this year’s Reindeer Festival. Donations made during the event are 100% tax deductible and go directly to the Zoological Society of Washington and Cougar Mountain Zoo. At the end of the event, one lucky donor will receive a half-carat diamond and gold necklace from Marlow’s Fine Jewelry.
There is also the yearly ‘Letters to Santa’ Drive at the Issaquah Community Center, which comes to an end today. Children are encouraged to mail their wishlists so that they can be delivered to Santa at the North Pole. Holiday Cards and other printables have no doubt been donated by local Print companies, so kids should be sure to add a return address so Santa can respond.
Also, the Best in Class Education Center is currently accepting contributions for Toys for Tots. Educational toys for children ages K-12 are preferred, and will go to benefit children from low income families and at-risk schools.
Lastly, the Pickering Demostration Garden has proudly announced that it recently contributed over 1,300lb of fresh food to the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank. The drive was spearheaded by garden coordinator Falaah Jones, and was supported by several groups in the community, such as Microsoft, Kibble, and Prentice, and Oracle.
