A prize-winning funnyman is coming to Issaquah.
Rodger Lizoala will appear at Stan’s Bar-B-Q where he will share his “Smokin’ Jokes.” Rodger is on a roll, and recently took fourth place in the Seattle International Comedy Competition. He also recently won the Renton Comedy Competition, and has made it to the finals of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition twice, first in 2009 and again in 2015.
He has participated in comedy festivals including the Big Sky Comedy Festival and the Great American Comedy Festival, and appeared on television on “Laughs on Fox,” MTV2, and on NBC’s “Stand Up for Diversity Talent Search.” Lizoala has been the opening act for comedians like Louis CK, Mike Epps, and David Brenner, and musicians ranging from The Backstreet Boys to Rhianna.
Also appearing are Ann Elise and Reece Green. Green played baseball for three years in college before giving up the game and switching to comedy. Green won the “Funniest MF” title at Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Club in 2022. Events like this can be advertised successfully by organizers using poster printing.
Lizoala is set to appear on Friday, May 5, which is Cinco de Mayo. The day commemorates the victory of Mexico over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 and is not, as many people think, Mexican Independence Day. It has become a day to relax, have fun, and look forward to summer.
