The annual Down Home 4th of July and Heritage Day celebration is returning this year. It is a presentation by the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce.
Festivities are planned to take place in the downtown area and in Veteran's Memorial Park. The day will start off with the ‘Kids 'n Pets Parade’ at 11:00 AM. It will begin at Front Street North to East Sunset Way and end up at Veterans Memorial Park. Applications are still being accepted for those who wish to participate.
Later in the day, there will be a soccer game between the Puget Sound Gunners and the Seattle Sounders at Issaquah High School.
Other activities happening during the day include pony rides, bounce houses, water balloons, three-legged races, and a hay hunt. In addition, there is set to be a beauty pageant, a slug speed race, and a pie-eating contest.
Vendors will also be on hand representing local commercial businesses, community organizations, and artisans. Rental fees range from $20 up to $175 depending on size of booth and category.
Issaquah banner printing companies often help organizers of such events with set up. Banners are used for everything from advertising to recognizing sponsors.
