After undergoing a transformation, the small rural shop formerly known as Al's of Olalla has reopened its doors as Olalla Bay Market.
The Olalla Bay Market welcomes customers from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm every Wednesday through Sunday. Starting at 4:00 pm each day, the market also offers restaurant services featuring a delectable menu of made-to-order sourdough pizza, fresh salads, and enticing charcuterie plates. It is located a few miles south of Gig Harbor.
The Olalla Bay Market stocks a range of other items, such as espresso, locally made cookies, soft-serve ice cream, various snack items, on-tap beer, wine, and other essentials like bread and eggs, which are available throughout the day. Printing services are usually used to create Menus.
Manager Marta Drevniak is planning to extend the restaurant hours to include lunch as things settle in. She announced that the market will be open on Tuesdays starting in late spring or early summer.
The property was owned by Al Robbecke for several decades and it was the site of Al's of Olalla - a popular store renowned for its well-stocked grocery and butcher shop. It was a go-to spot for locals who would drop in for a cup of coffee in the mornings.
GigHorborNow.org notes that due to issues with the septic system, Al's of Olalla was closed for good in 2020 as directed by the Kitsap County Health District.
