A pie-making workshop is scheduled to take place in Gig Harbor this November. Kelly Welk is hosting it alongside Amy Flippo.
Kelly Welk is known for discovering The Freedom Dinners that support Atlas Free. She is also a cookbook writer and event designer. Kelly is a passionate advocate for building community through shared meals. Co-host Amy Flippo, owner of Harbornest, is an interior stylist and realtor, dedicated to creating memorable experiences for the Gig Harbor community.
It will be held at the Net Shed and will feature two sessions, one at 10 am and another at 1 pm.
Participants will learn Kelly's expert tips for creating foolproof pie crusts, both single and double shells, as well as savory and sweet galettes. The workshop will also cover recipes such as pear frangipane, pecan, pumpkin, and apple pies, along with a seasonal turkey pot pie. Attendees will also enjoy hand-made caramel apple galettes and beverages while gaining practical insights for replicating the recipes at home.
Tickets are priced at $65, with a part of the proceeds contributed to Atlas Free and $5 going toward local community events in Gig Harbor. Full details, including the event address, will be provided upon ticket purchase.
Print shops can be used to provide take-home pie-making instructions to attendees at events such as this one.
