Gig Harbor's lighted boat parade returns

The annual Gig Harbor Event known as the Gig Harbor Lighted Boat Parade will be hitting the harbor again this holiday season. The show this year will feature a wide variety of water vessels covered in Christmas lights and decorations.

The event will be sponsored by the Gig Harbor Yacht Club, a club which has existed in the harbor since 1958. Their exclusive member events include dinner and lunch meetings, boat races, monthly cruises, and a Commodore's Ball.

Unlike the aforementioned events, the Lighted Boat Parade will be open for everyone. This not only means that anyone can watch the event from the shores of Gig Harbor, but also that all boat owners are allowed to be a part of the parade. After sending their names, the name and size (length) of their vessel, and the name of their home port to the address ghylightedboatparade@gmail.com, they can participate in all the light hanging and lighting, banner printing and hanging, decoration making/buying and hanging, and harbor circling that the event has to offer.

For those who wish to watch the event, it will take place in Gig Harbor Bay starting on Saturday, December 11th at 5 pm. The boats will take an estimated few hours to circle around the harbor twice. Watching, as well as participating in the event, will be absolutely free.
