Gig Harbor runs for a cause

The event titled “Race For A Soldier” will be taking place in Gig Harbor this September.

The race is being organized by the Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation. The organizer is focused on raising awareness about the challenges faced by military personnel, veterans, and first responders who live with the symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Race For A Soldier includes a variety of events to cater to different participants. The 12K run costs $70, with a reduced rate of $35 for children ages 12 and younger. This race starts at 7:45 am and runs until 11:59 pm on the day of the event.

Another option is the 5K run, which is priced at $55 for adults and $25 for children ages 12 and younger. This race begins at 8 am. The price for the 12K and 5k race will rise after September 7th.

For those unable to attend in person, a Virtual Run is available. The virtual event costs $45, with a reduced fee of $25 for children ages 12 and younger. The registration for the Virtual Run ends on September 8th at 11:59 pm. Participants who register by August 13 will receive their race gear by the weekend of the event, ensuring they are well-prepared.
