History buffs, especially those who enjoy learning about Washington state history, will be pleased to learn that the Eddon Boatyard in Gig Harbor, Washington will be offering free tours in November to those who wish to attend.
Visitors to these tours will learn about the history of the boat shop. This should include events in the distant past, recent past, and modern day, as well as speculation into the future.
They will learn about the founding of the Eddon Boatyard by Ed Hopper and Don Harder and the making, by their company, of many unique crafts. They will also learn about the community grassroots movement that successfully advocated for preserving and restoring the historic boatyard. As well as this, they will learn about continued restoration efforts and how the boatyard building is used and will be used by the community.
Tours will take place on Saturdays in November, which includes the dates November 6, 13, and 20. The times of these tours are 11:30 am to 12:00 pm, 12:15 to 12:45 pm, 1:00 to 1:30 pm, and 1:45 to 2:15 pm. The tours are free, but online registration is required. Prospective tour guests can book tours on the Gig Harbor Boat Shop website, and while on the site, they can read about the boatyard's history, admire the website's graphic design, and read about the complete history of the place.
