Gig Harbor is hosting a number of events to celebrate the holiday season.
The series of events kicks off with the yearly tree lighting ceremony tomorrow, December 3. The mayor published a letter on November 18 informing the public that Harborview Drive from Rosedale to Pioneer would be closed for the event. Special guests will attend the ceremony with the mayor to light the tree.
A number of other festivals and activities are planned for the month of December. Printing services could be used to promote holiday events like these.
On Saturday, December 10, lovers of baked goods can enjoy the downtown cookie stroll. The stroll will be held at participating shops along the waterfront from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. When the stroll is over, visitors will be entertained by a lighted boat parade that will be on until 7:00 pm. Everyone who owns a boat is invited to take part in the Gig Harbor Yacht Club’s Lighted Boat Parade, whether they are members of the yacht club or not.
On December 17, Santa’s Village at the parking lot across the street from Fondi Pizzeria will be open to visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. This event is hosted by the Gig Harbor Kiwanis Club and visitors will be able to shop at participating vendors. They can then watch the lighted car parade.
The city’s last holiday event is on December 18 when the first night of Hanukah will be celebrated with a menorah lighting at the Uptown Pavilion.
