Gig Harbor has some festive events planned over the coming week, including two big ones that stand out.
The Gig Harbor Lighted Boat Parade is on Saturday, December 9. People on the coast will be able to see lit boats travel around the port as of at 5:00pm. According to the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce's website, the parade's route will begin at Arabella's Marina, where it will set off before looping the harbor twice. The procession will pass by Anthony's Restaurant and 7 Seas Brewing.
A week later, on December 16, residents can look out for decorated and lit automobiles cruising through Gig Harbor. Cars taking part will follow a predetermined route that will take them through several local streets. They will depart at 5:00pm from the MultiCare parking lot located at Uptown Gig Harbor. Visitors may pick where they want to watch from as the automobiles pass by. The Facebook page for the Gig Harbor Lighted Car Parade has a map that shows the loop. Flyer printing is a popular way of promoting upcoming events in a region.
Pierce County Human Services is providing free Christmas shuttle rides to make it easier to attend these events. On weekends until Christmas Eve, the shuttle runs between Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula. It will operate from 8:30 am to 5:10 pm.
