Gig Harbor goes to the dogs

A special event is being planned for dogs and their people in Gig Harbor.

Wet Noses Foster Paws is hosting a meetup of all dogs rescued from the center. Wet Noses Foster Paws is a rescue agency in Gig Harbor that helps find forever homes for dogs. Wet Noses serves Yakima, Portland, Port Orchard, Seattle, Renton, Tacoma, and of course, Gig Harbor.

There will be a number of canned beers, including some from Sig Brewery, a popular local site. The location offers approximately 5,000 square feet, indoors and outdoors, for the dogs to play.

Wet Noses began fostering dogs in 2019, with its main goal of finding forever homes for the animals. Its secondary goal is to be a kill-free shelter for people who are forced to surrender their dogs. The center has recently begun actively looking for people to foster dogs until they can be adopted. The first year it was in operation, it found homes for 182 dogs, and is now hoping to double that number. Poster printing can be used to announce special events like this.

The party for the pups is set for August 14, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at WNDP on 14th Avenue Northwest in Gig Harbor. Wet Noses requests that everyone who wants to attend provide proof of vaccination, either in person or via email prior to the event. The fee, which will support the shelter, is $10 in advance or $15 on the day, and advance sales end August 14.
