Annual business summit to be hosted virtually

The South Sound Business Summit is coming up next month, taking an online format for this year.

The event was launched in 2015 with the goal of supporting businesses in Thurston, Pierce, and South King Counties and connecting them with forums where they can learn leadership and business skills, helping them become market leaders.

The organizers believe that because business leaders often operate alone, they sometimes miss out on learning from each other. This event was created so that the local business community has a place to meet and discuss the factors contributing to their continued success. In its physical format, new business owners can learn the marketing techniques that helped others prosper and swap Business Cards with other people in similar industries.

The event is open to entrepreneurs, business owners, and managers who are looking for ways to improve their business practices and become more profitable. The topics discussed can be applied to businesses of all sizes. More than 10 speakers are lined up, including Mark Winter from Winsource Group, Lisa Bridge who is the CEO of Ben Bridge Jewelers, and T’Wana Nobles from Tacoma Urban League.

The event will be held virtually and it starts at 8:00 am on May 4. Tickets cost $25 for general admission while seniors and students can get in for $18. People purchasing tickets are reminded to choose Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce while checking out.
