All artists are welcome to try their hand at painting at an upcoming event.
An upcoming First Friday Art Walk in Aberdeen will provide the opportunity for a “paint and sip” class. First Fridays are becoming common, as many communities encourage residents to explore the restaurants, bars, and shops in their hometowns on the first Friday of each month. Many participating businesses offer discounts or plan special events on these days.
That is what is happening at the upcoming Aberdeen First Friday, where local artist Kris Ellen Jenott will be teaching a painting class. Her landscapes are on exhibit throughout the community, and six paintings are on display at the Aberdeen Art Center, where she will teach the class.
Jenott is a landscape painter who often works in acrylics. She was the Adult Grand Prize winner at the inaugural art competition held by the Northwest Carriage Museum in March this year.
The class is scheduled for next Friday, June 2, from 5.30 pm until 7.30 pm. The center is on West Market Street. There is no charge for the class, and the public is welcome. However, the event is limited to those 18 years of age and older. Organizers of events like this can help attendees get the most from the experience by using flyer printing to create instruction sheets.
