Ground has been broken on the 95 East Distribution Center, a new last-mile fulfillment and distribution facility in North Woodbridge.
It will span 113,490 square feet and will be on Dabney Road. This project represents an investment of $22.5m and will provide close to new 100 jobs in supply chain logistics and. It will be the inaugural development project in the new E-Commerce Overly in Prince William County. Many of the jobs created by such projects often require business card printing services.
The Normandy Opportunity Zone Fund, LP, and the Pinkard Group purchased the property in 2021. They demolished the vacant warehouse buildings that were on two parcels of land adjacent to the property.
Principal of The Pinkard Group, Fred Underwood, said that issues regarding the supply chain have been of utmost importance for consumers and concern among many corporations around the world. He said that this high-bay modern facility will provide excellent access and increased functionality for last-mile distribution operations.
The 95 East Distribution Center is the first new project of an industrial nature east of Interstate 95 in Woodbridge in over 10 years and coincides with road work being finished to revitalize and widen the Route 1 corridor. Woodbridge District supervisor, Margaret Franklin, expressed her thrill about this project that will bring new jobs and new tenants to the community.
The new fulfillment facility is expected to be operational by next summer.
