Williamsburg to greet new year with jazz

Winter may be cold and dark, but Williamsburg has found a way to cope—jazz.

The Winter Blues Jazz Festival is designed to chase those blues away by providing several days of great music at venues throughout the city. Most of the activities are centered on downtown Williamsburg's Merchant's Square, which includes the Williamsburg Art Gallery, the Williamsburg Lodge, the Muscarelle Museum of Art, the Williamsburg Winery, the Williamsburg Lodge, and many of the best restaurants in the city. The goal of the festival is to provide a wide variety of jazz programs to fit every budget and taste.

Some examples of the events include the reception on opening night, which is at the Williamsburg Winery. The ticket includes a light, savory snack and one drink, and music by Alise & the Eveready Jazz Scene.

The Williamsburg Lodge's Colony Room is the site of “Mixology & Music,” during which more than 12 mixologists from the local area will serve their signature cocktails, while the Lodge will provide hors d'oeuvres. Music for this event will be provided by 504 Supreme and the Truetone Honeys.

The festival begins January 16 and runs through January 19. Times, and performers vary by venue, and are listed on the event organizer's website. Flyer printing can be used to create materials for events like this, including where specific artists are playing and what else is happening at the venue.
