A classic production, brought to Williamsburg by area youth, is preparing to hit the stage in a few weeks, taking the audience on a journey through a mystical land.
The Wizard of Oz: Live Performance is scheduled to entertain a live audience in Williamsburg soon, and area residents are invited to head out and support the local actors and stagehands who are making it happen. The show will run for two nights, providing interested parties with additional opportunities to witness the production.
It is being directed by Lyra Hale, with assistance from assistant producer and director Krista John. The music will be directed by Abby Blount, who is working with choreographer Moriah Joy. Brochure printing is a fantastic way to provide the audience with a rundown of the play's acts and the cast members who bring it to life.
The youth of the Williamsburg School of Arts and Innovation, with help from Page to Stage, will bring L. Frank Baum’s classic story to the audience. Guests will see Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion journey to the Emerald City 86 years after the movie made its screen debut locally.
The Kimball Theater in Williamsburg will host the production, which will premiere on Saturday, October 18 at 2:00 PM. Tickets range in price from $12 to $25 and can be purchased online.
