Williamsburg event showcases well-loved cats

An early November event in Williamsburg is shining a light on a creature many households have as a pet.

The Virginia Cat Festival is an event that celebrates felines. Attendees can enjoy a variety of workshops, a “marcatplace,” activities, food, meetings with stars, costume parades, and even adoptions.

In addition to the main festival, there will be the Jellicle Ball, which is an evening of music, dancing, entertainment, and drinks. This event requires a combination of a festival badge and a special ticket. The ball has a cost of $10.

Another experience included in the weekend is CatVideoFest. This event will feature a selection of popular clips of cats. Only a festival badge is needed to attend. The venue for this will be the Williamsburg Regional Library Theater.

The venue for the festival and the ball is Williamsburg Lodge, Autograph Collection. Parking is $2 and requires use of Passport Parking’s app. Tickets range from $15 to $40. Purchases can be completed on the event’s website. The festival is sponsored by the city, and put together by AVAdventures Productions. The adoptable cats are from Critters 4 U Rescue.

The festival will run on November 1st and 2nd. Flyer printing is a common promotion technique for many similar events. The times will be 11:00am to 5:00pm on both days, with the ball running later on the first day, from 8:00pm to 10:00pm, and the video show being between 8:00pm and 9:30pm.
