Upcoming contests on offer to dog owners

Canine Carnival will return to Williamsburg this October. Dog owners will have the chance to register their pets in different competitions, including a wiener dog race.

Canine Carnival is an annual event made for dog owners and dog lovers. It will be back for its fifth year, and locals are invited to join. The event will feature a costume contest and races for wiener dogs.

The costume contest will be divided into two categories - one for just dog costumes and another for owners and dog pairings. The race competition will have three divisions, but all competitions are currently filled. Owners who still want to partake in the race can put their names on a waitlist.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit vendors and exhibitors at the event. Guests can purchase dog-related wares from them or learn more about their pets.

Organizers are looking for sponsors to help support the event. There are different sponsorship opportunities available, and a sponsorship packet can be downloaded online. For events like these, services like business card printing can help facilitate partnerships between organizers and sponsors.

Canine Carnival will be held on October 17 between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. It will happen at the Quarterpath Park located at 202 Quarterpath Road. Those with more questions can call 757-259-3760 or email jhickman@williamsburgva.gov.
