“Scares That Care,” a horror-themed convention, returns to Williamsburg to fundraise for charity. The event is appropriate for all ages and will take place next month.
The charity started in 2014 to provide support for people with burns, breast cancer, and childhood illnesses. Since it has started, the charity has also expanded to support recipients in Racine, Wisconsin. Each recipient family will receive $10,000 to help with treatment.
The event will feature a wide variety of vendors and celebrity appearances. Guests can expect to meet creators and actors related to famous horror series like Halloween and Stranger Things. Horror-themed merchandise will also be available for purchase, many of which feature a unique graphic design.
Organizers have also prepared a 5K race and a “Kids Fun Race” for the event. Each runner will receive a bib and custom medal. Participants of the 5K race will also receive a custom t-shirt. Children participating in the “Fun Race” will receive Halloween-themed packs filled with prizes.
The charity will take place from July 30th to August 1st, and the run will happen on the event’s first day. The convention will take place at the Hilton Hotel on 50 Kingsmill Road. Entry to all three days of the event is $45, while registration for the races is $45 and 25$ for the 5K and “Kids Run” options, respectively.
