The James City County Board of Supervisors approved a waiver to a height limitation at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg recently, a move that will allow the park to construct a new attraction in its Ireland area.
Although details of the project are being closely guarded, it is known that the maximum height in the park has now been raised to 115 feet.
A map of Busch Gardens reveals that the new attraction will be placed near the Griffon – a steel Dive Coaster-type roller coaster that features two 90-degree vertical drops and two loops, and reaches a top speed of 71 miles per hour. It is likely that the mysterious new project is another coaster, since the first hill on the Griffon is 205 feet high.
A spokesman for the park said that although they could not reveal details, Busch Gardens was always looking for ways to enhance the experiences guests have at the park.
Another new addition in 2018 is the Battle of Eire attraction. Riders wear virtual reality headsets, and the attraction uses a motion simulator to take riders into a battle between a fairy guardian and the evil sorcerer who has stolen the Heart of Eire. The Ireland section of the park duplicates an Irish village, including shops, a tavern, flower Boxes, and castles.
Features like this can benefit if park officials work with a brochure printing company to add them to the booklet describing the attractions.Get a Free Quote for Boxes
