Brass Tap opening in Williamsburg

The New Town Shops on Main, a new entertainment, shopping, and dining venue in Williamsburg, will be home to a new Brass Tap franchise location. The Brass Tap is a craft-beer chain-based Tampa and should open its Williamsburg location by year’s end.

The franchise will open in a built-to-suit spot across from Buffalo Wild Wings and the Regal theater, and near Conte’s Bikes. The Brass Tap’s premises will comprise 3,400 square feet, and its kitchen will feature items made from scratch. Among them will be artisan tacos, wraps, and the chain’s signature burgers, as well as specials devised to complement its bar menu, which includes more than 80 beers on tap.

Outside, there will be a large dining area with a beer garden and covered seating, along with an area for live music. Local acts will be invited to play several times weekly, and other nights will be devoted to playing games.

Franklin Herring is the owner of the franchise, and says he decided on the spot in the Shops after doing extensive research for locations in the Hampton Roads area. The leasing agents said people in the area wanted more nightlife, as well as more drinking and eating choices, and the Brass Tap fit the bill.
