Virginia Beach sees return of festive fundraiser

For over 50 years, a special event has helped to kick off another Virginia Beach spring and summer season, and this well-loved activity will once again welcome adults for an afternoon of food, drinks, and fun.

The Youth Service Club of Virginia Beach will once again be treating seafood fans and landlubbers alike to a feast when they attend its annual Oyster and Pig Roast. Tickets have been made available in advance, and donations to the cause will also be welcome.

While they relax, unwind and enjoy one another’s company, guests can take in live music provided by The Skip Castor Band and Wonderland. The menu will include fresh oysters as well as seafood served hot from the pot. Pulled pork, BBQ chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, and clam chowder will be among the offerings. Cocktails, wine, and beer will also be flowing, and are covered by the ticket price. IDs must be presented to enter the venue.

Many spring and summer festivals take place outdoors, and that means any decor may be exposed to the elements. A poster printing company can supply a range of choices, with options at various price points.

Virginia Beach fans of seafood and BBQ are encouraged to join the fun of this special celebration. It will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 25 at State Military Reservation on Red Horse Drive.
