Virginia Beach will be joining other communities across the USA in taking part in a day that performs a simple step in environmental advocacy.
To mark America Recycles Day, Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation will be offering a community shred and electronics recycling day. The goal is to greatly reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, and also show the public how simple sustainability can be.
The organizers will accept all electronics, with the exception of cathode ray televisions. A document shredding service will also be available, and the Virginia Police Department will collect expired or unneeded prescription drugs for safe disposal. Anyone who recently upgraded their cell phone can drop their old one off and have it wired and recycled ready to be used by victims of domestic violence, while Nextrex will gather plastic film and Bags for recycling. The function will not accept hazardous household waste or propane tanks.
A community shred or other event can offer a valuable service, and signage may help keep them running smoothly. A banner printing company can provide a range of options, including reusable pop-up feather flags.
Virginia Beach will celebrate America Recycles Day on Saturday, November 21 with this shredding and electronics collection event. It will take place at Larkspur Middle School from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Get a Free Quote for Bags
