Virginia Beach gardeners who have been looking forward to the annual Virginia Beach Master Gardeners annual Plant Sale won’t have to wait much longer, as its date has been scheduled for early May.
This year's celebration of the local gardening scene will give home horticulturalists a chance to purchase plants with a local provenance. It will run for two days, and thousands of options will be in the mix.
The species and cultivars for sale will have been grown by the Master Gardeners from seeds or cuttings in the group’s greenhouse, and there will be lots to choose from. Options for sun, shade and part sun will be available, and native and pollinator friendly choices will be featured. Houseplants, veggies, shrubs, trees, perennials and even some tropicals will be on offer, and those who shop early will have access to the best selection. It’s recommended that everyone bring a wagon or folding cart to ferry their finds to their vehicle.
