Vienna to offer series of kid-friendly activities

The Town of Vienna will hold several family-friendly events throughout the summer at the Vienna Town Green.

Kids on the Green is an annual program that invites numerous musicians, performers, and educational organizations to Vienna to provide families with free and fun experiences. This year’s lineup will include bands like Marsha and the Positrons, Mr. Lilo, and Mr. Jon and Friends. There will also be an African dance and storytelling performance by Kofi Dennis, as well as an Indian dance from Prakriti Dance. The Beech Tree Puppets will be the final show of the series.

The interactive kids programs series is partly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Vienna, an organization that was created in 1965 to bring together those who could benefit the community. Sonia Patterson is the club’s president, and the club directors include Brian Billett, Hugh Gerard Hamilton Jr., and Diane Young. The organization meets on Wednesdays at the Westwood Country Club. The group’s signature event is ViVa! Vienna!

The Kids on the Green program will take place on Tuesdays throughout July and August, and the events will be held at Freeman Store Patio. There is no cost or registration needed for families to attend these kid-friendly programs. Guests may bring own chairs and blankets to the Vienna Town Green. Communities that host similar summertime gatherings may use banner printing services to share their events with locals.
