The Phoenix Athletix Club in Vienna will host and sponsor a fundraiser in November to help a child’s family pay for their medical bills.
James’s Promise Run is an event where the community can help the Shahryary family raise money to benefit their son James, a two-year-old who survived a pediatric stroke. The donations from the event will pay for James’s 2nd round of stem cells, therapy sessions, and a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.
There will be a 5K run held in-person at Vienna’s Nottoway Park. A virtual version of the event is also available for people to enter. Before the race begins, the organizers will have a children’s fun run available for kids to join. A speaker will kick off the event by detailing the story of James and discussing pediatric stroke awareness. After the race, attendees can participate in a raffle.
The race will occur on Sunday, November 7, from 8:30 am to 11:00 am and will cost attendees $35 to join. The 1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run is $25 and will begin at 8:00 am. Race packets for the fundraiser will include a T-shirt, bib, wristband, and other Promotional Products such as a water bottle. The donation goal for the event is $15,000. Those interested in supporting James can visit the fundraiser’s website.
