Vienna charity to organize bike ride

The Bike Aid organization from Vienna will be putting together a nationwide event in June to draw more attention to climate change.

The 2022 Bike Aid Cross Country Bikeathon is a national event where bikers can get together to raise awareness for an important cause. The cyclists will engage with citizens in more than 250 communities. There are several routes for participants to take that start in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Austin. Each course will have a fundraising goal based on its length, such as Hawaii having a goal of $440 while Seattle has one of $6,000.

Bike Aid is a charitable organization founded by Stamford students in 1986. The group has raised more than $2m for overseas projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The organization aims to fund environmental projects that promote climate education, clean energy, and responsible consumption. The organizers of the bikeathon intend on funding 50 projects by providing them with grants between $6,000 and $10,000, such as hydro energy grids, tree planting, and water source cleaning sessions.

The nationwide bikeathon will be held from June 14 to August 11, though the exact start date will vary depending on the route. Those interested in supporting Bike Aid’s fight against climate change can donate online. Groups like this may educate citizens about their projects by giving them Booklets made with brochure printing.
