Rsum workshop planned for Vienna job hunters

Writing an effective résumé can be the first step in landing a job, and a Vienna workshop will guide those who participate through the steps in crafting one for themselves.

The ‘How to Create a Targeted Résumé’ session will teach those who take part how they can create a résumé for both government and private sector positions. They will learn how they can market themselves in a way that will be positive to potential employers, and also how to peruse job postings and announcements to find clues about what format of application will be best for a particular job.

A variety of topics will be covered during the two-hour event. These include how a person can identify their success and which style of résumé format is most appropriate for a government position. A portion of the class will be allocated to a discussion of samples of private sector and federal job vacancy announcements.

The workshop is being hosted by The Women's Center, and it will be held at 127 Park Street NE in Vienna. The registration fee will be $35 per person. Handouts and other learning materials for an event like this can be sourced from a local Print company.

This target résumé workshop has been planned for the morning of February 24. Anyone who has questions or who would like more information has been asked to contact the organizer for further details.
