Norfolk museum to teach children yoga

The Hermitage Museum & Gardens in Norfolk will be holding a camp for children this August, with yoga the subject.

The Summertime Yoga Camp is a program that uses songs, storytelling, and crafts to teach kids yoga poses, breathing techniques, and meditation. The camp helps nurture imaginations while promoting mindfulness. Campers will get to create rain sticks, dream catchers, and keep a nature walk journal. The activities are designed to foster social and coping skills that will assist children during the school year.

The Hermitage Museum & Gardens is a 12-acre estate on the Lafayette River that is part of the Smithsonian Affiliations program. The museum has a visual arts school with a variety of public classes covering topics like wreath making, photography, and ceramics. Parents can also enroll their children in art camps offered by the museum. Organizations with artistic programs such as this can use brochure printing to make distributable information about their camps for clients.

The yoga summer camp will be held from August 24 to 28, and the course will start at 9:00 am and end at 1:00 pm. It will cost $105 to enroll a child in the program. The yoga camp is intended for kids aged six to ten years old. Those who want more details on the other programs offered at the Hermitage Museum & Gardens can visit the website.
