The Jazz Legacy Foundation will organize a cruise with live entertainment in November at the Otter Berth in Norfolk.
The Smooth Jazz Lunch Cruise & Day Party is an experience where guests can ride the Spirit of Mt. Vernon while listening to jazz entertainers. People will enjoy performances from Brian Pinner and the Forte Jazz Trio. Musical entertainment will also be provided by DJ HeartAttack on the upper deck of the ship. All guests can have lunch at the boat’s buffet. Surprise guest artists can also be found aboard the Spirit of Mt. Vernon. The event is part of the Jazz Legacy Foundation’s annual gala weekend.
The Jazz Legacy Foundation is an organization that supports jazz and music education by providing musical experiences to the community. The group offers music workshops led by professional performers and scholarship programs to local schools. The foundation’s Master Class Mentoring program pairs aspiring musicians with experienced jazz performers to help encourage student interest in jazz. Many performers have been featured at the group’s events, including Richard Elliot, Marcus Miller, and Lindsey Webster.
The jazz-themed lunch cruise will be held on Saturday, November 9 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Tickets to the experience will cost $125 per person. People can purchase bus transportation from the Embassy Suites Hampton for $35. Music organizations that put together similar cruises to this may use flyer printing to get more consumers interested in their activities.
