The 40th annual Norfolk Harborfest is taking place next month for four days.
There will be lots of maritime-related activities taking place at the festival, including the Parade of Sail open to all boaters, and tall ships from countries such as Argentina and the United States will be on show. The Challenge Regatta will take place on June 9, with a welcome reception on June 8. Registration fees are $50 for USSA members and $55 for nonmembers. There are also set to be work boat races and a pirate school for the kids.
There will be musical entertainment from artists such as Grace Potter, The Subdudes, The Sheep Dogs, Rick Springfield, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and The Wailers, and a wine and beer garden will be set up.
Other activities that are planned to take place over the three-day festival include a Colours Junkanoo street party, firework displays, and a hot dog eating contest, which will qualify the winner for the Official Nathan’s Hot Dog contest in New York.
