The 36th annual Herndon Festival is being held next month for four days. It is a presentation of the Herndon Parks and Recreation Department.
There are plenty of activities planned for the festival, including a carnival featuring rides and games. Three stages will be set up in the downtown and will provide constant musical entertainment. Among the artists who will be appearing at this year’s festival are Major and the Monbacks, Modern Vintage, and the Bad Influence Band. More than 50 local small businesses will be showcasing their products and services, and more than 100 arts and crafts and food vendors will also be on hand to sell their wares.
The kids will be entertained in the children’s art area and in Kids Alley. They may also enjoy two different fireworks displays.
Another event taking place is the 10K/5K run and Fitness Expo on June 5. The top two runners in each age category will receive prizes. Participation fees are $35 in advance, $45 on the day of the race, and $15 for those aged 15 and under.
The festival will likely attract visitors from all around the area, including nearby McLean. Flyers are likely to have been distributed to help advertise the event.
