Residents to have a monstrously good time at race

McLean residents can celebrate Halloween early at the upcoming 2015 Monster Mash Dash.

The 3rd annual event will feature a flat, timed course that goes in a loop. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes. After the races, there will be post-race festivities and Halloween goodies.

Cash awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers. There will also be awards for the top finishers in each age group and for the best costumes.

A banner printing service was likely asked to make start and finish Signs for the event. Sponsors’ logos are often included on Banners.

Registration costs $40 for the 5K and $25 for the one-mile fun run. Race T-Shirts are available in limited quantities.

Pre-race packet pickup and registration will be held tomorrow, October 24, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Potomac River Running Store, located on 7516 Leesburg Pike in Falls Church. The first 400 registrants to come to the packet pickup will be given a collectible Monster Mash Dash pin.

The race will kick off on Sunday, October 25, at 8:00 am followed by the fun run at 8:50 am. Race day registration and packet pickup will be held from 6:30 am until 7:15 am.

The Monster Mash Dash will be held at Franklin Sherman Elementary School, located on 6633 Brawner Street.
