Renaissance Fair brings different era to McLean
A renaissance fair is being organized in McLean for next month, providing area residents with a fun way to explore a bygone era.
The Winter Renaissance Fair, which is being organized by Shipgarten, will open its gates to minstrels, townfolk, and other interested parties soon while providing a taste of life during the Middle Ages. Attendees will step into a different world filled with captivating events, vendors, and other attractions for a fun and memorable day.
Knights will joust, jesters will juggle, and interested parties can try their hand at shooting an arrow. A costume contest will also be held, with the winner receiving a prize for their creativity and effort. It is an ideal setting for individuals who love history and adventure to gather with friends and family.
The fair will start with arrow shooting before segueing into a jousting segment. Attendees will also witness or participate in a tug-of-war and sword show. Banner printing is an excellent way to welcome attendees and raise awareness of such events for interested parties and passersby. Over 40 beer and cider samples will be available, as will food and a hot drinks menu.
The fair will be held at 7581 Colshire Drive in McLean on Saturday, February 1st, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Attendance at the fair is free, and interested parties can RSVP online.
