Presidential hopeful Joe Biden now a McLean resident

One of the candidates seeking the Democrats’ nomination for president, Joe Biden, has rented a five-bedroom, 10-bathroom house in McLean.

The news that Biden and wife Jill were renting property in McLean was recently reported by the Washington Post, which acquired the information concerning the former vice-president moving here from a report on his finances. Biden announced in April his intentions to throw his hat in the ring to become his party’s candidate for president in the 2020 election.

Printing services will likely be asked to include in future listings for this house that it was once rented by Biden.

Presently, Biden is one of 20 candidates seeking the nomination and took part in the recent Democrat debate on its second night. Both the first night’s debate of 10 candidates and the second night’s debate featuring the remaining candidates, including Biden, were broadcast on MSNBC, NBC and Telemundo.

In addition to its bedrooms and bathrooms, the Bidens’ McLean home also offers marble fireplaces, a gym, a 20-car garage, and a sauna. Estimates by Zillow put the rent per month of this property at nearly $20,000.

On observing the news, New York Times journalist Kenneth P. Vogel tweeted that although the vice-president has frequently said that he was often the poorest member of the Senate, since leaving office he has been paid $200,000 per speech.
